6 great 2014 new WordPress plugins you need to try out
A number of great free plugins were released for WordPress this month. We’ve scoured through all the plugins released so far in March 2014 to share the ones we think you’ll love. Let’s take a look.
Site Manager
Site manager is a pretty handy little tool. It makes sure that your WordPress installation, themes and plugins are up to date without you needing to manually tell WordPress to perform any updates.
It works automatically in the background to check for any updates. Once it’s updated them, it adds a record to a changelog so you can see what it’s been doing.
This is a great little addon to have to make sure you’re never running an out of date or possibly even an insecure plugin.
Nino Social Connect
A new social linking plugin that lets you quickly and easily add social links to your sidebar. Nino Social Connect comes with support for eleven social networks and features a wide range of styles and effects that can be used, along with three different icon sizes.
Nino makes a great addition to the sidebar of any WordPress blog.
Advanced Custom Facebook Likebox Widget
There’s one annoying issue with the standard Facebook widgets for WordPress. They’re boring. You cant really customize them. That’s where Advanced Custom Facebook Likebox Widget comes in. It lets you edit the style of your Facebook likebox widget to match the rest of your website, and features an easy to use colorpicker and the option to change the box size.
What makes it even better is that it’s designed to be completely responsive, so will look great on practically any screen size!

Waving Portfolio
If you’re a designer, photographer or other creative professional you likely have a bunch of awesome work you’ve done that needs to be shown to your website visitors. Waving Portfolio does this in a great way. It adds a new portfolio manager to WordPress, allowing you to show off your creative work.
iRemoteWP – WordPress Control Plugin
This is quite possibly one of the best plugins we’ve seen released this month. iRemoteWP lets you manage all your WordPress blogs from once central location.
Direct from your iRemoteWP account you can do things like perform updates on WordPress, plugins and themes, schedule automated backups of your blog to Amazon S3, Google Drive or Dropbox and track a wide range of logs and statistics.

User Map
User Map lets you visually see whereabouts your blog readers are from. A Google Map is generated, highlighting the locations of both active live users, and registered users.
You can even display the map publicly on your site to add an extra ‘community’ feel to your blog.
